Carlton Bingo club welcomes MP

Mr Wright took to the microphone in order to highlight the benefits of playing bingo and the effects it can have on boosting the brain power and stimulation for the mind. This was very apt as last week was Alzheimer's awareness week and recent studies have highlighted how playing being can keep the mind active.

The manager of the Carlton Bingo Club in Hartlepool said of MP Iain Wright's visit that all this members were delighted to have him as a guest bingo caller for the special event.

Mr Wright said when speaking about his visit to the Carlton Bingo club "Getting to meet all the bingo players at staff at the bingo club was an excellent way of raising some money for this worthy cause and a superb way to highlight the impact the dementia of any form can have on families."

He then went on to say "Initiatives like this event provided by the Carlton Bingo club will hopefully develop a better understanding of dementia and be able to further help families affected by this disease. Dementia affects many thousands of people each and every year and can be absolutely devastating for those who need to care for their loved ones struck down by this debilitating disease."
