Bingo takes the biscuit

How many times have you been to land based bingo with a handbag full of sweets and pop? I know it's something I do when I go to a bingo hall simply because sometimes the prices are a little high but one bingo club has been ordered by the local council to stop it's members from taking their treats with them or they will be banned from using the facilities altogether.

The Walton Bingo Club have been warned by their local council that they will not be able to use the hall any longer if patrons continue to bring on their own food. The Walton Bingo Club is hosted at the Columbine Centre in Walton and the council are less than pleased that the bingo players refuse to buy their goodies from the kiosk as they feel the prices are too high.

Rather than be dictated too however the bingo players have chosen to "get up and run" and are relocating the sessions to the nearby Royal Albion pub. One of the member's of the club which meets every Wednesday, Kathleen Gilbert had this to say "All this fuss over a couple of packet of biscuits and a few cakes shared amongst the players; as old age pensioners we don't appreciate being threatened with eviction, no one does. We are looking forward to our new bingo club."

That really is taking the biscuit Frinton and Walton Town Council! Although ladies if you play online bingo you can eat as many biscuits and cakes as you like without paying extortionate kiost prices.
