Nichola Dixon
Nichola is ITV's resident bingo stats' guru. How many Liverpudlians are playing? What about people called John? She's got all the answers it seems to us - though she seems a tad flustered dealing with all the technology from time to time.
Nichola began her professional training as a dancer, at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, and has (from her early teens), had various presenting jobs and acting roles such as 'Clocking Off', 'Nice Guy Eddie', and in Alex Cox's recent film 'Revengers Tradegy' alongside Sophie Dahl.
Her career as a dancer came to a halt, due to a chronic back injury, so it was then, after graduating from The University of Leeds with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, that she spent some time working as Cabin Crew.
During this time, Nichola still worked as a presenter on her days off typically keeping herself busy), and after two years, found that her performances on the box were much more fulfilling than those up in the air at 35,000 feet.
Channel One Television in Liverpool followed, - where she worked as the anchor presenter for a further two years, whilst also qualifying as a journalist That particular role ended in October 2002, after Nichola was offered the position of Weather Presenter at the BBC In the North West. After her Meteriological training at the BBC Weather Centre in London, Nichola returned to Manchester for the second time.
Alongside the weather, Nichola has also been filming for Inside Out.... in which her first assignment was working with a internationally acclaimed local musician,- Wayne Marshall... something else that she also has a passion for.
In her spare time Nichola loves the theatre, dance and sometimes the gym. nd is also currently working at picking up the flute again.
