Mecca Bingo win window award
Halesowen News today reported on the winners of a window dressing competition that was run in Brierly Hill, the first of its kind, and Mecca Bingo came out tops. The competition was organised by the Signpost centre with the aim of bringing the unemployed and students together to learn new skills and to work as a team.
Fourteen shops took part in the competition and had their High Street windows dressed by 45 students and unemployed people. The competition was divided into three categories:-
- Large
- Medium
- Small
Lecturers from local colleges assessed the students work and the judging was based on the window displays and how the teams worked together. Each team had £50 to spend on materials with which to dress their shop window.
