Guaranteed Jackpots - flash in the pan or here to stay?

As online bingo players we have all taken part in the big games at some point whether it's the big £1 million coverall games available at many online bingo sites or just a progressive jackpot game but the new generation of Guaranteed Big Money Jackpots seems to be attracting more and more players to online bingo.

So what is the different between a guaranteed jackpot and a normal jackpot? Well the clue is in the name. Guaranteed means exactly that - that no matter how many numbers it takes a player to call bingo the advertise prize pot is what they will win. On other jackpot games you may find that the game starts with a prize pool of £1 million for example but after a certain number of calls the pot prize decreases.

Let's take a quick look at the £1 million jackpot games offered by many "skins" of the 888 Holdings software platform - sites like Posh Bingo, Get Minted Bingo and similar.

The £1 million pound games run across the network, one of the bonuses of being part of a huge network is the ability to offer such huge jackpots. They run on a Wednesday at 10pm, Friday at 10pm and Saturday at 9.30pm in the Chatterbox rooms.

Pretty much they are the same everyday except that on a Saturday the minimum amount that will be won is £500, Friday its £1500 and Wednesday is £1000. Although the prize pot starts at £1 million you would have to call bingo in 40 numbers or less. After that the prize pool decreases as follow:-

  • 41 numbers £500,000
  • 42 numbers £250,000
  • 43 numbers £125,000
  • 44 numbers £75,000
  • 45 numbers £35,000
  • 46 numbers £15,000
  • 47 numbers £10,000
  • 48 numbers £7,500
  • 49 numbers £6,000
  • 50 numbers £5,000
  • 51 numbers £4,000 on a Friday or Saturday, £2,000 on a Wednesday
  • 52 numbers £3,000 on a Friday, £2,000 on a Saturday or £1,500 on a Wednesday
  • 53 numbers £2,000 on a Friday, £1,000 on a Saturday or £1,250 on a Wednesday
  • 54-75 numbers £1,500 on a Friday, £1,000 on a Wednesday or £500 on a Saturday.

I have to say I have never heard of someone winning the £1million jackpot prize EVER and they have been running a little while now, and another thing I recently found is that even if you are lucky enough to win the big £1 million, you cannot have the money immediately; you can only withdraw £30,000 a year.

So let's go back to the Guaranteed Jackpots well someone will win that pot on the day it is advertised and I know first hand someone who has actually been lucky enough to share one of the £10k guaranteed games at Wink Bingo!

So are they here to stay or just a flash in the pan?
