Last Saturday evening at their local bingo hall could have ended really badly for one group of friends as one started to choke during a bingo session at Bryons Bingo and was refused a glass of water by staff. Valerie Hicking, her sister Betty Barton and their friend Linda James where enjoying a game of bingo at the hall when Betty started to choke. Linda, despite having a bad knee, ran to the food counter to get a glass of water for her friend.....

Only to be told that she would have to go to the book sales desk to BUY one! Betty did eventually recover but only after a bottle of water had to be bought at the cost of £1.

Commenting on the situation a spokesperson for Byron Bingo said "All our customers know that the first port of call for water is bingo book sales, even in an emergency. The food counter water is not drinking water. Why the lady went to the food counter is unclear as the book sales desk was nearer to her table. We would never refuse any of our customers a glass of water."

Bingo Winner to share winnings with absent friends.

Ann Davison was lucky enough to win £61,000 whilst playing bingo at her local Gala Bingo club in Washington by calling bingo in just 41 numbers. She took home the house prize of £160, the Regional prize of £1,335 and the National Bingo prize of £60,000.

Ann and her husband usually attend the club with friends Nancy and Peter but the night of the win was Peter's 60th birthday and they were attending a family function. Despite not being at the club with Ann she is still going to share the win with her friends. She had previously won £10,000 last year and also shared that with her mates.
