Threat to Flutters Bingo Club's "Blackpool Lights"
A bingo hall in Biggleswade has come under fire from the local Town Council for illuminating the front of the Flutters Bingo Club like "something you would see on the sea front at Blackpool"
Cllr Peter Vickers said of the lights that they were not in character with the part of town the bingo hall is situated in and insisted that the District council should act to have the lights removed immediately.
Additionally the club has ignored the fact that it is in a conservation area and hadn't applied for planning prior to erecting the lights.
In response it is reported that the director of Flutters Bingo Clubs, Ian Tyler said that he was hoping to reach an agreement over the lights but accepted that planning permission had not been applied for before installing the lights.
