Bingo winner's husband is jailed.
Tracey Winter was lucky enough to scoop a £60,000 bingo win yet her husband, Ian, carried on claiming more than £50,000 worth of benefits. He failed to declare her win and after an anonymous tip off was charged with fraud. The benefits he was claiming include income support, housing and council tax benefits.
He was jailed for 12 months and Tracy said of the sentence "the judge was in a bad mood".

Help on its way for struggling bingo industry
Following a series of closures of land based bingo halls the Government may be about to perform a U turn to help the struggling industry. Last September saw a limit imposed on the number of £500 jackpot gaming machines allowed in any one bingo hall and it is reported that the Government are set to "loosen" these limits.
Between 20m and 30m is the reported losses expected with the imposing of the new law according to bingo sources, a third of the profits.
In the last 15 months 53 land based bingo halls have closed reducing the number of bingo clubs throughout the UK to just 550.
The Bingo Associations Paul Talboys went on to say "We have everything crossed that the Government has changed their minds".

A new online bingo site launched called Love Bingo with a mascot called Leo the Love Bingo Cupid. Powered by St Minver gaming and with software provided by Parlay Entertainment Love Bingo boasts that the offer "an animated and colourful theme based on comedy and romance" throughout their online bingo site.
