Barred from Pub & Clubs but not Bingo
Micheal Dicker, 23, has been issued with an ASBO that bars him from all pubs and clubs but the magistrate gave a special allowance for his local Gala Bingo hall because he does not drink there despite the hall being a licensed premises.
The court heard that although he attends bingo sessions regularly with his girlfriend he does not consume alcohol on the premises.
Previously Dicker had admitted to two instances of being drunk and disorderly and one of resisting arrest. Dicker actually wanted to have an ASBO but on his terms so that he could continue to attend the bingo sessions with his girlfriend.
Has he not heard of online bingo? You can play anytime day or night from the comfort of your own home. Their aren't set bingo sessions, you can smoke if you choose and their is no waiting for a bingo claim to be validated. Obviously the magistrate in this case wasn't aware of this or maybe the "terms" of his ASBO may not have been as lenient.
Surely an ASBO is a punishment? The fact that Dicker had to pay compensation to the PC with whom he resisted arrest shows this chap to be deserving of the restrictions an ASBO enforces.
