What's behind the name of a bingo site?
How do online bingo sites decide on their names? This is a question that has been floating around my head since "the boss" presented me with a list of 250+ bingo sites that I need to review over the coming months. Some have really out there kind of names and others are just plain boring.
Of the names on my list, lets take a look at a few and try to figure the reasoning behind the name.
Big Heart Bingo - at first glance of this name, I automatically think something loving and giving, something that's all heart. So this site is aptly named because it donates a percentage of the cost of your bingo cards to charity.
Bingo4Free - conjures up images of playing bingo for free - this is another site that does exactly as it says on the tin, you play bingo for FREE.
Exotic Bingo - I'm thinking beaches and palm trees, belly dancers and the like - but that isn't what you get when you visit the site although the logo shows a palm tree, the main page is rather dull.
I can see the general idea is that a bingo site will choose a name and then a theme or mascot for it. Take Foxy Bingo, their mascot is a Fox, ok THE FOX - but what led to the choice of name? Where did it come from?
If you were to run an online bingo site - what would you call it and why? Mine would quite simply be Pandora's Box of course!
