Unlucky night at Gala Bingo
Well it was for one of the armed robbers who stole cash from a Gala Bingo club in Sunderland as he set fire to himself as he tried to burn out the getaway car - now that's what I call Karma!
Staff at the Pallion New Road club were threatened by three masked raiders with baseball bats before they drove off in a dark vehicle Marissa Carruthers of the Sunderland Echo reports.
The staff at the Gala Bingo club where shaken but unhurt and although there were members in the club at the time, no injuries were sustained.
A spokesman for the local constabulary said: "Our inquiries are based on any suspicious activities before the attack, any information involving three people in a dark vehicle outside the venue.
"Anyone who saw them burning the vehicle, and anyone who has burn injuries because clearly the person is going to be injured."
A fire crew from Sunderland Central station extinguished the blazing car and confirmed that police are investigating it as arson.
