Raceclubs - Virtual Horse Racing
I received an e-mail this morning relating to an old Virtual Horse Racing account I had set up some time ago. The idea behind Virtual horse Racing is you own train and manage a digital horse. It is pretty interesting stuff the only downside is its all quite complicated and probably only for those who have a real competative streak in thier gameplay desires. The company which runs the service is called Race Clubs and for those with a keen horse racing interest it may be of interest.
Summary of the e-mail I got: View From The Stands by Graham Clifford
The world has experienced Beatlemania and Abbamania but brace yourself for the global onslaught of Shandyman-mania; as reported by RC's wandering reporter, Graham Clifford in his popular View From The Stands.
Challenge Series 21 It is not impossible, although it's highly unlikely that you will ever finish reading the Challenge Rules from start to finish and still get your horse in any of the £25,500 Challenge Series, or £16,320 Consolations or £2,550 World Challenge Day races- which is why we suggest you start reading it now for next season. If the 20th season was anything to go by- you'll need all the help you can get staying ahead of the 21st virtual horseracing season on Raceclubs.
$100 Four Winners
Team Johansson was ahead with 135 wins, Peregrine got 46% wins/starts, Pompadours achieved 17 wins and Fancy Lester maxed out at 80% wins/starts. And yet they all got the same $100 each. What, where, why & how? Can you do better in April?
Previous WFA Winners
Sky Castle Stables, MrTug and Team Johansson led their horses to Cheltenham and each won their respective races. They even got to drink green WFA ale. St. Patrick's Day WFA winners, Muggins Racing and Grove Vale Stables, confused the race for a Halloween WFA and came wearing the scariest shades of green ever seen on a race track.
While we can't even begin to understand how upsetting it must have been to win a WFA, just to find the cheering crowds only came to hear you sing Purple Rain, nobody would ever have thought that for a second that it wasn't the 'Artist Formerly Known As Prince' hiding behind the purple silks resplendent with epaulettes but Pompadours. We never meant 2 cause u any sorrow, we never meant 2 cause u any pain, we only wanted 2 one time see u laughing, Pompadours.
Easter Handicap WFA
Can you believe that the Persians have been colouring eggs since 3,000 B.C. to celebrate the start of Spring. The Christians later adopted the tradition to celebrate Easter- shortly after 0 AD we suspect. This sacred holiday has not evolved into the 21st century unscathed as it exploded across the world into a multi-million dollar industry that included anything that could be molded into chocolate, branded by Armani or policed by the arbitrators of good taste.
Did you know that purple coloured Easter eggs are passé- that's because everyone knows that purple was last season's colour, this season, all fashionable Easter eggs are tastefully packaged in teal (it's an offish shade of blue) otherwise they just spoil the season for everyone more concerned with the presentation rather than the origins of Easter.
Well, the RP said anyone is damn lucky if they get an Easter egg without worrying if the packaging is in fashion- which is pretty much what he told us if we asked Pompadours not to use those purple reigns again in the Easter Handicap WFA this week-end.
