Using Gala Wiz
During my visit the Gala Bingo hall in Poole yesterday I thought I would try out the Gala Wiz, the electronic way to play bingo.
My husband came with me and being the type to shy away from change, he chose to stick with the paper tickets whilst I thought I would brave the Wiz.
The main difference is the amount of tickets you can purchase and play - with paper tickets it would be impossible to play more than 6 tickets, with the Wiz you can play up to 24 tickets!
I toodled off to the desk to buy my Wiz and purchased the standard package which cost £28.25 - for this I got
6 tickets for the Red Preview
12 tickets (9 + 3 free) for the Orange 3 page early
12 tickets (9 + 3 free) for the Yellow 10 page main
2 tickets for the Party Extra
12 tickets (9 + 3 free) for the Yellow Grande Finale
2 Side Bets
The High Five Game 6 tickets - played manually
The Big N National Game - played manually
Hubby paid £20 for his tickets and received the following:-
6 tickets for the Red Preview
6 tickets for the Orange 3 page early
6 tickets for the Yellow 10 page main
1 ticket for the Party Extra
6 tickets
1 Side Bet
The High Five Game 6 tickets
The Big N National Game
So in terms of value for money, the Wiz seems to come out tops.
There are three types of packages available, the Standard (12 tickets), Bargain (18 tickets) and Ultimate (24 tickets) all with varying prices. The downfall for me being that it takes away from the equality in the chance to win for all players. A bit like players who max (buy all cards) at online bingo
Having said that, for ease of use you cannot fault the Gala Wiz - you simply mark the number using a pointer type device on the key pad, and the Wiz does everything for you.
This is how the Wiz in play looks:- (please excuse the quality - taken from my phone)
