Spokesmen from both companies have refused to comment on the story.

The claim is that Playtech is close to sealing a deal to buy the online bingo software provider, despite already offering a bingo product in tandem with its poker, casino, mobile and live-dealer products.

Just earlier this week Playtech spokesmen reaffirmed the company's intention to continue pursuing an aggressive acquisition strategy which added credability to these rummours.

Playtech's last major online acquisition coup was the takeover of Tribeca Tables, which brought a significant number of online poker sites into the Playtech sphere late 2006. The deal, included the transition of the poker operations of sites like PaddyPowerPoker.com, VCPoker.com and BlueSquarepoker.com.  This Bingo deal would have a similar client list enhancing effect given the large number of sites powered by Virtue Fusion.
