New site with voting for CM's and Roomies

| | Comments (0)

In my many travels around the internet looking for anything bingo I have come across many a site trying to take on the big players in the market and the latest addition to the list is a site called BingoCMVote.

Which Bingo is the site the currently dominates this sector with their sister site CM of The Year but it was only a matter of time before someone somewhere tried to muscle in.

The new site has tried to be as innovative as Which Bingo but fails miserably. The site is not a pretty one with a mish mash of frames and an awful colour scheme.

I took a look at their Roomie of the Year award (which by public admission you can multi vote on every 20 minutes) and was dismayed to find that the comments left by a few members were similar to that found in a school playground.

Even so far as a "David" (would this be the same David that is the registered domain holder for Purely Bingo) felt the need to comment as follows:-

Ok I didnt want to get involved but its looking like the few is spoiling it for the many especially poor

loopy
stan
helen
coff
george
jellybaby
lady
and joany

Ok this is a competition but mostly a bit of fun. By leaving daft, insulting or negative comments your not only showing yourselves down but also the site you play at.

at the beginning i personally was enjoying the bit of competition between us and william hill. It was like a David & Gollieth thing all over again small little Purely against the giants of gambling.

All the roomies are here because people took the time and voted for them to say well i prefer another roomie is wrong yes you may prefer another roomie but you didnt vote or enter that roomie so its too late only the guys up there can be voted for but to publically put another person down just cos other roomies got behind them and got em here is discraceful.

Bingocmvote guys have got together and created soon to be a thriving and well reconised bingo review/information site and for them to do this vote and give prizes from their own pocket for it.

So before you next post something offensive or digrading just think next time it might be you up there. so give these guys the support and encouragement they deserve and get behind them no only for these guys but to support the site you play at.

Ok lecture over lol

Purely Bingo

It would appear that what is happening in this sector of the site is that lesser known bingo sites are using this new, desperate for any input, site as a free marketing tool. What is it they say? Any publicity is good publicity?

The site states

The cm votes - you can only vote ONCE per month - These are being tracked and ips are recorded multi votes are wiped out the system ONLY the roomie of the year vote you can vote more than once

Why isn't the IP tracking used for the Roomie vote also?

Currently there are 8 roomies in the running

Stan01053 - William Hill Bingo

helenscrackers - Take A Break Bingo

coff - Think Bingo

george - Mecca Bingo

Jellybaby00 - Mecca Bingo

Lady_The_Mrs - William Hill Bingo

Joany60 - Ladbrokes Bingo

Loopy123 - Purely Bingo

It's a two horse race from what I can see with votes for Purely Bingo currently at 1191 and William Hill at 1070 with the closest in 3rd on a mere 222 votes.

A question I ask myself is why would an online bingo site direct its player base to a site blatantly advertising its competitors in what is a very competitive market? I can comprehend the Which Bingo votes because Which Bingo is quite a well known name in the industry - but really a new site to the market like Purely Bingo (launched June 2007) really needs to rethink its marketing strategy - this is not the way to go!

I also tested the CM Vote -  a simple enough form to complete and submit, I then when back and re-voted and my second vote was submitted - no warning about a multi vote yet I voted from the same pc within 5 seconds of each other.

What I ask myself is this - are online bingo sites really going to wear an award from this new voting site with pride?
