Just days before, on Saturday afternoon, a grandmother playing at the bingoclub won £10,000 on a linkedBingo game. On Christmas Eve Barry Darbyshire, won £17,500 in the nationalbingo game less than a week after another local man also won £17,500 playing the Afternoon Delight Bingo Game at the Bingo club on December 19, and on December 18 a bingo customer won £5,800, also on the bingo national game.
Bryan Tyrrell, the bingo club manager, said: "It is fantastic that customers can win such amounts of money at one of our afternoon bingo sessions. There is always a great atmosphere when someone wins big money."
Now a £10,000 winner has continued the run of bingo luck at Mecca Bingo Wrexham.
On New Year's Eve a man was about to leave the bingo club after the main bingo session when the bingo results of the National Bingo Game came through, the results identifyed his lucky bingo ticket as the winner of £10,000.
Bingo manager Nick Sillett said: "The results of the national bingo were just coming through on the bingo printer when I spotted the gentleman on his way out and asked him if he wanted to see the bingo winner sheet. He was very cool about it but, as you can imagine, also delighted when he realised the big amount of his share, then headed for the door to have a cigarette."
The lucky bingo customer, who didn't want to be identified, said: "When I was waiting for just one number on the ticket my knees were knocking, but I didn't think I had a bingo win until Nick showed me the bingo results. It's a fantastic start to the new year."
On Sunday, January 6, the bingo club will be joining other MeccaBingoHalls across the country for a linkedBingo afternoon and evening bingogame, for £1 million Bingo Jackpot.
