Manchester United Star Diggs Bingo
Soccer ace Cristiano Ronaldo is hooked on a new game - the UK's most popular gambling game, bingo. But Man U fans won't find the winger shouting "House" down the local bingo hall. Instead the 22-year-old plays Bingo at home after being given a DVD version as a Christmas present.
Ronaldo - notorious for winking when Wayne Rooney was sent off in the World Cup - reckons that playing the eyes-down British game gives him as much pleasure as any of his consoles.
Ronaldo, who banks £100,000 a week, said playing the bingo DVD was helping him improve his English because the words were simple and easy to learn.
He admits he loves basic family fun games and insists on joining in whenever his young cousins come over to visit him at his luxury Cheshire mansion.
A United source revealed: "Cristiano playing bingo comes as absolutely no surprise to us. Like the other lads, he's got just about every games console going and loves playing those. At the moment the other lads are really into their Nintendo Wii games. They have tournaments against each other. But the players know they mustn't risk injuries by playing them too long."
