Gala Bingo Closures

Speaking to Marketing Week Gala admits it has considered closures quite seriously. The stark admission comes despite repeated claims by GalaBingo of "no plans" to close bingo halls. Speaking to Marketing Week, Goulden admited to being on "red alert" regarding hall closures and hinted much will depend on whether the Chancellor eases the tax burden on the bingo industry in the Budget in March - five Gala Bingo Halls have been earmarked for potential closure. A month-long consultation process has begun on Gala Lakeside, Gala Teesside, Gala Bristol, Gala Bourne­mouth and Gala Edinburgh. The Bingo industry has been hit hard by the smoking ban.
