Mike Gordon, the deputy managing director of Sun Bingo Online, told staff that the site had "aggressive growth targets", but admitted that in terms of digital strategy the company has "no history" and is "making it up as we go along".

SunBingo.co.uk recorded 64,514 unique users during June.

Data from another web metric firm, comScore, which uses a different measurement system, put traffic far higher for the month - at 3,445,000 for thesun.co.uk, 300,000 for page3.com, 11,000 for sunbingo.co.uk and 102,000 for the Dream Team site.
