StrandBingo carried out a customer survey after the ban and found 87% of their bingo players said the change on smoking had been positive.
This is the first time a UK Bingo hall has discoved an overwhelming number of bingo players now support the smoking ban.
It was thought bingo would suffer badly from the new UK bingo laws, which banned smoking in all enclosed work and public places across Northern Ireland, because around 75% of players smoke, three times the national average.
But almost eight months later, Strand Bingo in Londonderry has found the majority of its customers feel the smoke-free premises has actually improved the bingo playing experience.
Strand Bingo took an unusual approach to the ban by offering patrons who wanted to stop smoking help from the Western Health and Social Services Board (WHSSB).
As well as offering guidance, and information, she advised people on how to get patches and gum to aid their bid to kick the habit. .
Owner Thomas Doherty said he was "pleasantly surprised" with the result of the bingo survey.
"It is great that our members feel the smoking ban has had a positive effect on their bingo playing life.
"We have worked really hard this year to make the transition as easy as possible for our bingo membership and we will continue to deliver a fantastic bingo experience."
