Bingo slots Alfresco?
Since the inception of the smoking ban a lot of Bingo Clubs have felt the pinch, the question is how are they planning on catering for their smoking clientele?
Flutter's Bingo Club in Rushden may have the answer they are contemplating moving some of the fruit machines outside. Flutter's has an open space to the side of their building and are looking to put some greenery and a seating area there for their members that do like to have a little puff in the intervals.
Andrew Tyler, one of the owners of the club, said "I think we are moving in the right direction, smokers just want a fair deal and somewhere comfortable to go for a cigarette. We are a family club and hope that our members continue to support us"
Although the club hasn't seen a significant drop in players attending the bingo sessions there has been a drop in profits as instead of buying a drink or playing the slots in the intervals, customers that smoke are going outside for a cigarette.
One customer, Irene Gilbert, 81 had this to say about the smoking ban "We always used to sit in the no-smoking area, but the smoke would always drift into your face."
