Free Money offers
Don't waste the free money a site provides - use it wisely. Some sites may offer what appear to be really impressive FREE money but if you take the time to look round the site their deposit bonuses or promotions might not be as impressive.
Get a feel for the community on the site. As online bingo players most of use like to feel part of the community - join in with chat, talk to the other players if possible. Have a look around, see what chat games are on offer.
In essence, use the free money to check out all aspects of the site - a good one to keep an eye on is the sites wagering requirements. You don't want to deposit 10£ and then realise that you have to wager 100 times your deposit and bonuses before you can withdraw your winnings!
Let me set the scene for you - a friday night out with the husband at our local Gala bingo hall, the usual anticipation when you get to 1tg and wow, a win of £300 - result!
The Dream game is coming up, for those of you who havent played it, its like a link game, not quite as big as the National Game but one line wins £5,000 and two lines £26,000. I always get excited when this game plays, havent we all sat there imagining what we would spend it on should we be lucky enough to win.
The one line goes in something like 7 numbers to a club in Poole, a club that used to be our local before we moved. A swift kick under the table for hubby with an angry whisper "if you hadnt needed to move for your job that could have been us!" Eyes Down for the two line prize, 6 numbers on and hubby says "one number, 86". I glance at the call board, and guess which number comes out next? 86!!!!! Oh my god, I could have died - the world seems to stop as I wait for him to call BINGO!!! After what seems an age but must have only been seconds he shouts BINGO!!!!!. The game is stopped - one winner - Woking, Surrey - THATS US! My every so wonderful hubby has just scooped a grand total of £26,196.83!!!
Three lucky bingo players from Leigh are celebrating winning over £160,000.
Players at the BJ's Bingo Club in Leigh cheered as Jenny Brocklehurst announced a £90,150 win on Sunday.
The previous Sunday £20,070 was won by a differnt player on the National Bingo Game.
On October 31, someone else scooped the £50,000 jackpot. A spokesman said: "All our winners have shouted house on the National Bingo Game, and to win the National Jackpot you have to be the lowest call in any of the 470 clubs playing nationwide, to win the £100,000 top prize and the club prize of £150."
But more was to come. Because five numbers on her completed ticket were also BIG'N numbers that night, she was just one number away from scooping the Silver Jackpot, which would of won her an additional £120,000.
There have already been six winners of the silver jackpot since the game started in September, while the Platinum prize is yet to have its first winner and currently stands at £1m.
Following a £22,500 national bingo jackpot success, most players might already be jolly.
But for one recent winner of the prize, it's a case of Jolley by name, jolly by nature, reports National UK Bingo.
Debbie Jolley, a 22-year-old bingo player from Wigan, scooped the cash after completing her full house in 47 calls.
"My mum was talking to a friend on the other side of the club when it was announced, so she came running over to me and gave me a big hug," Ms Jolley reveals.
Great article which is not really that bingo relevant other than it has bingo in the title in the Times last week. But felt it worthy of a showing on the blog.
"It must have seemed such a simple wheeze to Gordon Brown: a motto to capture what makes Britain great. The idea ticks so many boxes on the Prime Minister's to-do list that it proved irresistible to him.
A motto would be new, but could convey tradition. Choosing it means consulting people, the kind of participatory democracy that rebuilds trust in politics. And then there is the unstated post-devolution awkwardness of having a Scot as Prime Minister. The motto can highlight Britishness, what unites rather than what divides us. How clever! How British!
The national jackpot of £90,000 could prove helpful not just for the lucky winner of the bingo prize, but for her family too.
For the victor, 63-year-old Bernie Jones, tells National Bingo that money troubles are now solved for her whole family.
A full and frank explination of all the different online payment systems available for people to play online bingo. Clearly the most frequently used options are simply Debit and Credit cards but there are a vast array of alternatives too.
Number 13 really does seem to be unlucky when it comes to the lottery, for it has appeared fewer times than any other ball in the UK s National Lottery.
As it turns out, 13 has come up only 146 times, eight fewer than any other ball, ever since the lottery was launched in 1994. Not appearing in 49 consecutive draws between July and December 1997, the doomed numbered ball is followed by 6, 9 and 11.
The Great American Depression during the 1920s was a time of food lines and massive unemployment. It was a time when many people needed something to cheer them up and take their minds off of their economic problems. This is one of the things that the game of bingo did.
In America, bingo was redesigned and became very popular during the Depression. Toy salesman Edwin Lowe redesigned the game, making it based on seventy-five numbers and played on a square grid of five numbers by five numbers.
The game became a very popular form of fundraising for the Catholic Church during the 1920s. Churches needed a way to raise money to relieve their own economic woes and bingo provided the means as well as allowing for a community element. It was an easy game to organize, not requiring a large investment in equipment or supplies. It was easy for players to learn and play it requires no strategy or skill. New players can easily and quickly learn to play. The game is not expensive for players, even during the depression.
It is a game of gambling but it raised money for the church parishes, offered some enjoyment for the players and gave the players a chance to win some money. Bingo's popularity grew and the bingo game flourished during the Depression as players sought relief. Lowe's restructuring of the game gave it its own distinct American flavor.
Top Ten Holdings PLC, along with its subsidiaries, operates the third largest UK chain of bingo clubs operating at sites across England and Wales. Since joining the AIM market in 2002 the company has expanded through a series of acquisitions.
British bookmaker Ladbrokes posted a rise in pre-tax profits of 84 per cent for the four months ending October, which it attributed largely to the phone betting side of the business. Total gross win rose by 33 percent in the period, while UK retail gross win fell behind with a gain of four per cent due to 'record' horse racing cancellations.
"Early trading in November has seen the continuation of High Rollers' Telephone activity and, encouragingly, reached into double-digit year-on-year growth in UK Retail gross win," the betting firm said in a statement.
Chief Executive Christopher Bell said that the firm was doing better than it and the market had expected.
The recent addition of Bingo to the Ladbrokes stable of online games will have helped these numbers although its early days yet to see if the Ladbrokes customer will consider bingo as a worth while bet.
An 82-year-old bingo fan from Hunts Cross tells National UK Bingo that the game is a "lifeline" for her.
She adds that a recent £20,000 win is to benefit her family as she is "not money minded".
"I have been a widow for over ten years and, win or lose, the club is somewhere to go," she tells National Bingo.
The game of chance could prove life-changing for a 73-year-old Gorton man as well, it has been revealed.
He previously weighed 18 stone - but, following a £22,500 bingo win, is slimming down for a trip to Australia.
"I've lost three stone and now weigh 15 stone, but I still need to lose more," he tells the operating body.
But when he loses enough weight, he intends to travel first class because, he says, "if you've got it, flaunt it".
Margaret Venables became more than £400,000 richer recently as she scooped the High 5 jackpot, Gala Bingo reports.
She was playing in the Fenton club when her numbers came up - with the progressive prize also secured as the final ball to be drawn was the number five.
This saw her claim half of the money in the High 5 pot, while the rest was shared equally between the rest of the club.
Ms Venables' exact reward totalled £437,104.31, with the amount paid to her Gala Bingo cohort reaching £1,184.56 each.
"Don't miss out on your chance to become the next big High 5 winner, played daily at 14:00 and 20:00 GMT at your local Gala Bingo club," the company urges.
And it's not all or nothing, as completing a full house on any two-digit number ending in five is worth ten per cent of the current High 5 jackpot.

BINGO millionaire Jean McCullagh has vowed to fight relatives claiming a share of her jackpot win.
Jean and sister Margaret, who was visiting from Canada, hit a national jackpot on a night out with Rose and Jessie at the Forge Mecca in Glasgow's Parkhead.
They claim Jean promised them £250,000 each - she insists she only promised them a share of the £10,000 local jackpot. Jean believes she can produce members of staff who witnessed the conversation.
According to Rose and Jessie, the four had pledged to split any win.
At an emergency court hearing last month, a judge ordered the payment to be frozen due to the dispute.
The women are married to three brothers and live within a few minutes drive of each other.
The family has been ripped apart and last week Jean cut a forlorn figure as she and husband John finally returned to their £300,000 detached villa in Uddingston, Lanarkshire.
Fyfe added: "The onus is on the other side to prove there was an agreement to share winnings. We are confident they won't be able to do this as no agreement was in place. "We anticipate calling a number of staff from the bingo club and believe they will support Mrs McCullagh.
"I have dealt with many cases and they can develop into lengthy and expensive court battles.
"They can also cause irretrievable breakdowns in families."
Lord Bracadale granted an interim interdict against Jean, blocking the payout and ordering Jean's bank account to be frozen.
A neighbour said: "Jean and John went into hiding and fled their bungalow after it all became public.
"They came back a few days ago but Jean hasn't really ventured out of the house much.
"Because of all the attention, they are very careful who they answer the door to. John deals with all visitors to the house. All the publicity has left Jean reeling."
Only a month before Jean's win, local woman Margaret Shearer became Britain's first £1million winner in the same hall and the Forge Mecca was hailed as the luckiest bingo hall in Britain.
Green spends about four hours a week as a volunteer for the Alabama Head Injury Foundation support group, donating his time to be the primary voice for bingo games, socializing with group members and helping out where needed.
The 67-year-old Mobile man volunteers with the AHIF Recreational Support Group for Survivors of Traumatic Brain Injury. The group meets once a week at Regency Church of Christ on University Boulevard.
"Jerry has helped any way he can," said Teresa Roberts, resource coordinator for AHIF.
Roberts said Green's volunteer service to the group goes beyond the weekly meetings.
"He has carried clients home after meetings and takes them to the grocery store," said Roberts.
She's even called on him in a pinch.
"One time I needed to get a mattress to a client and Jerry helped me deliver it," said Roberts.
"He's more than willing to do anything we need," said Ron Haynes, traumatic brain injury coordinator with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services. "We don't know what we would do without him."
Green started volunteering three years ago when he saw a story in the Press-Register about the AHIF.
A retired insurance adjuster, Green called to offer his time.
"Having a head injury of sorts myself, it struck my interest," said Green, who started having seizures 17 years ago.
Green said he was at work one day when co-workers noticed something was wrong.
"I would just quit communicating with you and it would all go blank," said Green during a recent support group meeting.
He said he noticed the symptoms getting worse.
"I couldn't remember how to get to the doctor's office," recalled Green, who was eventually given medication to control the seizures.
Melissa Slater, chairwoman of the steering committee to raise funds for AHIF, said Green is always willing to help raise money for the group.
"Anytime we have a fundraiser he is right there, whether it's to pick items up for a sale or to help sell items," she said.
Slater said the money they raise goes toward financial aid for services for people with traumatic brain injuries, for people in the support group and those who are homebound and can't physically come to the meetings.
"We raise funds not only for our socialization group, but for people who don't have insurance," she said.
Slater, whose son is a member of the head injury support group, said she's seen the way Green interacts with the members.
"He's very compassionate," said Slater. "If they're having a bad day, he listens to anything they have to say.
"He's nonjudgmental, no matter what's going on in their lives."
Green said he gets "personal satisfaction" out of volunteering his time once a week.
"It's just a pleasant group to be with," he said minutes before taking over his duties to call a bingo game. "If it wasn't, I wouldn't be here."
As Rank Group delivered a profit warning to the stock market last week as the affect of the smoking ban hits their bingo business, chief executive Ian Burke accompanied that caution with a prediction of stark future for the wider game of bingo.
Currently, bingo operators are doubled taxed; the only form of gambling to be so. They pay 15 per cent gaming duty plus 17.5 per cent VAT and have been pleading the government to abolish the latter.
The Bingo Association met with Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Sports Minister Gerry Sutcliffe recently to discuss the matter.
"The Prime Minister promised to speak to Darling about the situation with an answer ahead of next year's Budget, and he asked Sutcliffe to look into any action his department could take to help with the new gambling laws," said Paul Talboys, chief executive of the Bingo Association.
Since 2006, 60 bingo clubs have closed as the number of bingo visits has waned and it is predicted that the future of 200 more are uncertain.
Burke also believes that it is much more than money at stake.
"Communities are suffering. There's a lot of anger from customers who feel a game that acts as a social amenity is being picked on," he said.
That view is echoed by The Henley Centre which published a report last August on the social impact of the closure of bingo clubs.
"The loss, especially those in small, rural venues and deprived urban locations, has meant not only the loss of pastime, but also the disappearance of a unique social support network," the report said.
Good publicity for Betfred through the medium of giant inflatable ducks.
Betfred's first ever stand alone TV advert to star the evergreen Stuart Hall. As I've mentioned before Mr Hall is the face of Betfred Bingo and such is the climate in favour of Bingo at the moment Betfred were given the go ahead to push the latest Betfred offering. Filming the advert went well according to Betfred insiders and the mercurial Mr Hall was apparently on top form.
Betfred Bingo has brought in Stuart Hall as their "face of bingo". He now stars, unsurprisingly, in their first TV advert campaign for the bingo room. There are two adverts and both feature bored people who's lives are suddenly interrupted by the effervescent Hall (seen in the advert climbing out the of a Laptop - how much cooler could this have been?) who suggests they login and start playing Betfred Bingo.

The Gala Bingo club in East Ham, London, "went wild with delight" as one of its members claimed the gold Big N jackpot recently, reports National Bingo.
After completing her full house, the lucky bingo fan became £150 richer for scooping the house prize.
But as nobody else in the country achieved the task in fewer calls, she also took the £100,000 national jackpot.
And then general manager Stuart Green revealed she had matched seven of that night's Big N numbers.
In all, the three jackpots combined to an overall sum of £566,525 - making her the first gold-level winner of the Big N.
The new promotion was launched in September and offers three jackpot levels - silver, gold and platinum - which continue to grow until they are won.
Currently the platinum jackpot, which has yet to be won, stands at £1 million, according to National UK Bingo.
